mad about plaid at madewell

plaid & jeans

this is basically turning into an all madewell all the time blog and i think i’m okay with that (hey madewell, call me!). but y’all, after launching their sezane partnership a couple weeks ago, they went ahead and released even MORE new arrivals just as i was actually starting to embrace summer. the current collection is all about plaid. and i’m certainly not mad. or sad. but really, quite glad.

okay, i’ll stop.

anyway, here are the newest plaid ensembles that having me reaching for my madewell gift cards (and dreaming of fall):

one || short-sleeve dress in edina plaid and short-sleeve dress in masmodil plaid. what can i say, i love them both! perfect with a wedge or sandal now, or with tights and boots later.

two || indigo plaid dress. oh my stars, two plaids in one! this dress is equal parts chic and elegant. perfect for work and for play and when paired with a pair of pumps and a red lip, it’ll be perfect for the holidays as well.

three || oversized tee in emporia plaid. i have come to embrace the beauty of a front-tuck -especially into high waisted jeans (like the ones pictured and like the TWO pairs i currently own and absolutely love). i could see this shirt easily sliding into my weekly wardrobe rotation -tucked and billowed into a brightly colored pencil skirt or worn loose over a pair of skinny jeans.

four || mott tie-waist jumpsuit in inkcheck. i know my calculus. it says plaid + romper = happiness. not really, but come on, has there ever been a better match (i mean, other than peanut butter and chocolate, of course)? when it comes to adding this to my closet, my long torso just might be my achilles heel, but just because i can’t have it doesn’t mean you should be deprived of its plaid goodness. besides, that’s why that whole “living vicariously” thing was invented.

these new arrivals are bound to go fast, run don’t walk!
