it’s the weekend, it’s the weekend. hallelujah! i feel like the weather has finally started to cooperate just in time to begin transitioning into fall (go figure) so i’m very much looking forward to slightly cooler temps and two free days of rest, relaxation, and of course some fun activities in between. S and i are planning to make our return to the driving range and i have a breakfast date with sistah and jebby on sunday that can’t come soon enough. what are you up to this weekend?

here are my top loves of the week!

one || tanks a lot. this summer has been the year of the tank. my underarms haven’t seen this much exposure in … honestly, who knows how long. so with the same few sleeveless blouses on rotation for the past few months, i figured it was time to add to my collection. this week i discovered what i believe to be the perfect tank at my neighborhood loft store. the loft crew neck tank is light-weight yet still polished enough for the office, making it the perfect staple for your work and play wardrobes. the best part? it’s currently on sale for FIFTEEN DOLLARS. (said in a monica gellar-bing voice, “I KNOW!”). i purchased it in black and grey and am debating on whether or not to pick it up in white as well. if you’re curious about sizing, i’m an XS.

two || curly sue. y’all it was a big week for hair. not only did my new davines products arrive from amazon (and i love them), but i finally mastered the curling iron. yes, after nearly two decades-worth of hair styling, i feel confident in saying that i know how to properly curl my hair (without the assistance of hot rollers because that’s kind of cheating). since i’ve desperately been avoiding blow dryers at all costs, i applied a curl enhancing serum to my freshly washed damp hair and let it air dry. on thursday morning, i used libby of a lover’s anthology‘s hair curling instructional video as a guide as i sectioned off my hair and curled it using a 1″ iron. the result was salon-ready waves that i’m fairly certain i can recreate in the future. three cheers for a new hair style!

three || visit your daughter at work day. with an open morning at her disposal, momma bear decided to head down to la jolla to take photos of the cove yesterday. before she got snappy, she paid me a little visit at the club. though it was not much more than a drive-by visit, it was a lovely way to kick off my thursday morning.

four || welcome to the club(s). the journey to being course-ready has been a long one. S and i started small with my first trip to the driving range in years. then we began to work a visit there into our weekly routine. soon after that, i had purchased a glove. and then an outfit. then came new shoes. and the last piece of the puzzle -a set of clubs of my own! S surprised me with a generic set (bag included!) from amazon this week and while i love a good bouquet of flowers, this romantic gesture certainly has a longer shelf life. plus they are purple and pink! i can’t wait to test them out this weekend. once i get a few swings with these babies under my belt, we just might be ready to play a few holes on an actual golf course.

new clubs

five || high school pals & pedicures. there’s really nothing better than treating yourself to a pedicure, ammirite? only if that pedicure is alongside one of your high school besties who just happens to be in from illinois this week! tomorrow afternoon my friend R and i are meeting for a little foot pampering and girl talk. aside from the obvious excitement over picking a new shade for my piggies, i’m very much looking forward to a little one-on-one time with my favorte midwestern transplant.

six || ready for her close up. no big deal, just one of my college roomies being absolutely stunning as the COVER MODEL of equisite weddings by san diego magazine. the spring summer issue of the mag hit newsstands this week and it’s really no surprise they gave the title of cover model to miss L herself. let’s be honest, have you ever seen a more beautiful bride?! see more photos from their amazing wedding here (and it really was amazing, i was lucky enough to attend).

and on that note, i’m off to enjoy the weekend.

love y’all, mean it!
