here we are, the third and final look in the series one flannel, three ways — what i like to call my “date night outfit.” truth be told, i wore this look out to dinner on saturday evening with S and my parents. if you hadn’t realized by now, i’m a big fan of the high-rise skinny jean. i love how they accentuate your waistline at the same time giving you longer leaner legs. i traded out traditional denim for a grey wash and slipped into my d’orsay flats for a classic alternative to my usual black pumps (sometimes the toosies deserve a break). to show off the higher-rise, i tied the shirttail in a tiny knot at my waist, showing off just a hint of skin. to bring out the red in the flannel, i opted for a bold lip and an oversized clutch in the same hue.

outfit details:

flannel button-down || j.crew (in stores only, similar style)
high riser skinny skinny jean || madewell
d’orsay flats || j.crew factory (same in suede)
red clutch || francesca’s collections (similar)
bold lip || bareminerals marvelous moxie lipstick in “risk it all”

and that concludes three looks in three days! i hope you got some inspiration on how to make your flannel pull double (or in this case, triple) duty over the fall and winter seasons.

happy dressing!
