bohemian

when we were checking into the la quinta resort during our mini vacation there last month, i overheard the concierge mention to a guest that this is a busy time of year for the desert cities. first come the president’s day/ski week vacationers, then the tennis fans to attend the bnp paribas open (of which we took part!), and finally -perhaps the biggest event of them all –coachella. despite knowing and loving many of the artists/bands that have played the famous festival, i can’t say you’ll ever find me attending. partially because heat and i are not friends but mostly because i would be way too concerned that my wardrobe wasn’t bohemian enough to fit in. the only flower crown i’ve ever worn was as a junior bridesmaid when i was eight years old (and clearly, i was a trendsetter).

BUT one of the things i love most about fashion is that trends or style genres are all up to personal interpretation. my version of boho might look very different than yours and that’s totally okay. basically my version includes something flowy, a felt hat, and a fringe bag.

so if i were to attend the highly-anticipated musical festival this weekend, here’s something i might wear while gallivanting amongst the sea of man buns and gladiator sandals:
