vetta capsule

now that summer is officially in full swing, i felt like this weekend was the perfect opportunity to finally bust out my off-the-shoulder pom pom top and matching skirt set. besides being super cute and comfy, this outfit is extra special because it’s from my friend and sorority sister, cara’s ethical fashion line, vetta.

after years of committing to buying only responsibly made clothing (and documenting it on her personal blog, bien faire), cara, along with her business partner, vanessa, launched vetta -“a versatile and responsibly-made women’s capsule collection” earlier this year, to high acclaim (seriously, read about their instant success here & here). the five-piece capsule can be mixed and matched to create up to 30 different outfits! the dress i’m wearing comes in both black and chambray and can be restyled four different ways -as a matching set, separately, and if you’re feeling really daring, the skirt can be tied up around your chest and worn as a strapless dress. as someone who loves to get the most wear out of every piece in her wardrobe, i knew a vetta piece would be the perfect addition to my closet. not to mention that i wanted to support my friend in her new venture! the dress is made from environmentally-friendly tencel fabric which is buttery soft and the playful pom poms on the top are such a unique detail. i can’t wait to remix the pieces for future posts -the skirt would be cute paired with a simple tank and espadrilles for a casual work look, and the top, with a pair of high-waisted jeans and d’orsay flats for a summer date night ensemble.

unfortunately everything from the current vetta capsule is currently sold out, but the girls are hard at work to create their fall collection so be sure to visit their site or follow along on instagram for details on its launch date.
