as you may know, S and i recently celebrated our 2nd (dating) anniversary. since S’s brother was visiting us over the 4th, we decided to delay a romantic celebration until this past weekend. on saturday we ventured to q’ero, a quaint peruvian restaurant in downtown encinitas. since it has also been about two years since we had eaten there, it was such a treat to go back. being such a fickle eater, peruvian cuisine offers many shawna-friendly options, including a delicious quinoa salad, and vegetable-rich entrees. instead of large entrees, we opted for a bunch of small plates so we could sample a variety of flavors. my personal favorite were the yucca fries!

after dinner, S and i cruised down 2nd street to snap a few photos near dusk. having grown up in encinitas, this part of town always makes me a little nostalgic. it was a warm summer night, so i thought i’d take my vetta capsule top out for a second spin. this time, i paired it with my latest madewell find, the perfect printed silk skirt and my soludos espadrilles that i wear no less than four times a week. to finish off the look, i added a black leather cross body bag and my favorite red lipstick.
