you guys, the bow obsession continues. as soon as i spotted this italian cashmere sweater on banana republic’s website on pre-order about a month and a half ago, i knew it had to be mine. with a hefty discount and an additional $15 off reward burning a hole in my wallet, i did what any responsible barganista would do -i threw it in my online cart, clicked purchase, and never looked back. since it wasn’t available until mid-november, i had all but forgotten about it until it showed up in my mailbox last week. though it was available in cream and navy, i opted for grey since it’s such a versatile neutral (and i have a slight obsession with grey these days). it’s already sold out in the cream and select sizes in the grey and navy so if you’re interested i would jump on snagging one soon.

i sported this outfit to our recent walk-through with our venue coordinator at bernardo winery. though the air was crisp, the warmth of the sun made it perfect sweater weather. fingers crossed the temperatures are very similar come january!

a note about this color palette: i’ve shared before that i’ve really tried to transition my wardrobe this year to one of cohesive neutrals. i will say that in doing so, i’ve been able to hone in on my personal style even more and put together outfits that i feel both beautiful in and comfortable while wearing. however, if there is a downside to having a wardrobe of similarly colored fabrics, it’s that you have to maintain some creativity to avoid getting into a rut. so in thinking about how i wanted to put together this outfit, i challenged myself to think outside of the box. normally i would have paired this sweater with a lighter-wash blue denim, but at the last minute, i opted for my black jeans instead. though i normally wouldn’t think to pair hunter green and black, i really loved how the dark hues of the hat and jeans played off each other and really allowed the dove grey sweater to take center stage. the black tassel necklace brought the whole look together -complimenting both the denim and the cognac lace-up flats.

just goes to show you that sometimes out-of-the-box thinking can pay off. you’ll never know if something works unless you try it!

First off… you look gorgeous in these pictures. And the location is perfect to compliment your outfit.
Next, the sweater is completely sold out… I checked. So sad. You were smart to pre-order.
    Have a wonderful, wonderful day.

Bummer about the sweater! There were still a few left the other day. Thank you so much. I will pray daily that we had as gorgeous of a day as we had at our venue next month! xoxo
