finding my personal style

as we enter a fresh year, i can say with full confidence that 2016 was the year i honed into my own personal style. through multiple closet purges, sampling new silhouettes, and adopting a neutral color palette, i now have a closet full of pieces i not only adore, but more importantly, that when i wear them make me feel like my most confident self.

perhaps the biggest lesson i’ve learned is that just because something looks flattering on someone else (cough, fellow blogger, cough) doesn’t mean that it’ll look as complimentary on me. case in point -many button-downs, billowy dresses, and most things semi-masculine in nature. i so appreciate how effortlessly some of my friends can pull of the tomboyish look but after a lot of trial and even more error, i’ve found i’m a girly girl, through and through. give me a flutter sleeve, a ruffle, and a bow and i’m at my happiest.

Okay… well this outfit is just too cute. I love the softness of the blouse and (color) paired with the sweater and shoes is flattering. Great to add the contrast of jeans. And, of course, that purse… one of my favorites. Cuteness all around. The location is lovely. Your hair is perfect. Great post today!

Thank you so much. I snagged this blouse before the Holidays and I’m kind of obsessed. It’s delicate and feminine and can be dressed up or down. I anticipate it being a big player in my wardrobe even in the spring! xoxo
