rekindling

i’m as guilty as anyone of neglecting clothes in the back of my closet. i’d like to think i wear everything equally but the truth is, like many people i’d assume, there are simply pieces that get looked over time and time again. this jumpsuit was one of those pieces until i made the conscious effort to reinvent it for myself.

anthropologie polka dot jumpsuit (similar) || h&m belt || soludos shoes || h&m hat (similar)

the crazy thing is that it only took the addition of a belt to make it feel new again. now it’s one of my go-to looks for work (yes i wear a jumpsuit to work sometimes) and perfect for a dressier night out.

it’s easy to get in a style rut and want to buy all the things to fill your closet with new interesting pieces. but there is beauty (and thrift!) in rekindling relationships with old closet “friends.” if you find yourself overlooking a garment that you once loved, i challenge you to style it in a new way -maybe that’s pairing it with a different shoe, adding a statement necklace, even layering it over or under a blouse. you’d be surprised at how you can fall in love with a garment all over again once you approach it in a fresh way.

What’s not to like about today’s post?! Your take on rekindling clothes is great. Let’s drill it down. Again, the photography is great (S has developed his eye to capture the perfect showcase photo). The location is interesting and flattering to set off your outfit. The outfit is just too darling…a jumpsuit, neutral yet bold color, polka-dots (the best), a complimentary accessory in that cognac belt, the hat and shoes to finish it off. It all ties together. And then there’s you… smiling, radiant you. Yeah, this look works.
