after a morning of hiking on saturday, S and i were hungry for a good meal. so for date night, we tried out birdseye kitchen, a hole-in-the-wall thai restaurant that came highly recommended.

since i have almost zero photo evidence of my wedding rehearsal dinner outfit (it was covered up by a giant north face jacket due to the torrential downpour that night), i decided to remix the top i wore then for our second date night as a married couple. unfortunately this tank has since sold out, but i linked a few similar options below. what i love in particular about this look is that it’s slightly unexpected. whenever i want to feel pretty (even a little sexy), i’ll usually reach for a skirt or a dress. but there’s something about curve-hugging high-waisted denim and a billowy tank that shows off your collar bone (a highly-underrated body part) that i find equally as intriguing. since the weather was a little chilly, i opted for leather booties. whenever i wear booties with skinny jeans, i always roll the cuff a couple inches to give the illusion of a longer leg-line. i kept the rest of my accessories simple, opting for my JORD watch to compliment the shade of my shoes, a neutral cloth clutch, and a pop of color with a bold red lip.

as for the thai food, it was incredibly delicious. if you live in north county san diego, i highly recommend you put birdseye kitchen at the top of your list of must-visit restaurants. and for those with specific dietary restrictions like me, there are plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options (i got the vegetarian pad thai and nearly licked my plate clean).

You have that pull-together look again. I love how you rolled up the jeans hem… it really does give a longer look to legs. The clutch is darling, of course. I like the bling top paired with jeans. And the booties are perfect for the look. Your hair falls beautifully in these pix. I’m happy to see you wearing the stunning red lipstick again. With the neutral backdrop, you seem to just pop in the photos. Lovely.
