pop of pink

when i was very little my late grandfather gave me the nickname “rose.” it stemmed from my unwavering devotion to the happy hue, so much so that i believed my then naturally ginger locks to actually be pink. over the years, my obsession with the color has remained fairly consistent, peaking perhaps in college when i showed up to my first day of freshman year looking like elle woods -complete with matching pink hangers and shower caddy (bless my roommate’s heart). yikes.

as i’ve slowly transitioned myself to a more neutral-based wardrobe, my relationship with pink has changed a bit. nowadays, i only have a few pops of pink in my closet -mostly in the form of accessories. speaking of pink, can we talk about this blooming tree we found on our recent visit to the san diego botanic gardens? i was obsessed! as i noted on instagram, my parents gifted S and me a pair of annual passes so we could explore/have an endless supply of blog backdrops whenever we want. at only a 15-minute drive from our house, it’s the perfect mini getaway for a saturday or sunday afternoon. we’ll definitely be back when i’m wearing more reasonable footwear.

p.s. i recently read this article on why we’re all so obsessed with what has been labeled “millenial pink” and it’s pretty fascinating. looks like the rosy shade is here to stay.

Beautiful! I went to the gardens yesterday afternoon for about an hour and I took the exact same picture of that pink plant! Great photographers minds think alike!

Your blog hit the high mark and has stayed there. First, you’re lovely today as expected. (Did you get your hair trimmed?) Your pop-of-pink bag is spot on. Every girl should have a pink purse, and red high heels. I think that’s written somewhere. Your outfit is very nice, and I really love the necklace (reminds me of the 60s). The location is so pretty… we’ve visited there. You’ll be able to take advantage of the Gardens with all the nooks and crannies of interest. Great post today.
    Hi to the Mr.

Aww, you’re so sweet! I feel like we’ve hit a great stride with our photos (thanks to my talented hubby) and it feels really good! I did get a few inches of dead ends chopped off on my recent visit to the salon, it had been over two years since my last proper haircut so it was time. Hoping it’ll come back longer and healthier 😉 The necklace is my friend’s newest handmade creation to her online store, I love the shorter length and its delicate simplicity. Aren’t the gardens stunning? I’m so glad you’ve had the chance to visit here, we can’t wait to come back and explore (and take more pictures in the future, of course). Husband says “hi!” xoxo
