S & S wedding || our wedding day

i’ve tried to write this introduction a thousand times and yet i still can’t find the words to accurately describe the sentiments surrounding our wedding day. while it was certainly the culmination of eight months of planning, it was more importantly, the celebration of an answered prayer 31 years in the making.

to say that this day was all about S and me simply wouldn’t be true. this wedding was all of ours. the 96 guests that were physically present, and the dozens more that were celebrating from afar. besides the fact that half of the city was praying for a rainless day (which we miraculously had despite being sandwiched between two of the worst storms san diego has seen in recent memory), our wedding felt bigger than just S and me and our families. it was a celebration of everyone who has ever wanted the very best for us over both the course of our lives separately, and more importantly, over the course of our journey to become one. as evidenced in many of these photographs, we felt every emotion. there were laughs, there were tears (the happy kind, of course), but overall a feeling of pure contentment. as cliche as it may seem, we truly could not have asked for a more perfect day.

aside from our families and closest friends, we owe heaps of gratitude to every single one of our vendors who were integral in the planning, overseeing, and flawless execution of our special day. i cannot speak more highly of each and every one of them. we were incredibly blessed to be able to work with all of them and truthfully i miss my regular email chains with our coordinator so much.

below are some of our favorite images from the day, as impeccably captured by the dynamic duo of rachel and rico castillero of studio castillero. please enjoy!
