when i made the decision to transition this space to a fashion and lifestyle blog, one of my main objectives was to showcase how you can remix pieces of your wardrobe for the various occasions in your life. while i would love to be a blogger who has a new, fresh, never-before-seen garment on her blog everyday, the truth is (despite what some may think), my closet (and our bank account) really isn’t that big. i’ve just gotten really creative with remixing pieces over and over again. take for instance, this top. you’ve already seen it twice in the last few weeks and i can bet you that you’re bound to see if a few more times before the summer ends. my goal in featuring it so often is to not only prove to you that i get the most mileage i can out of my clothes, but more importantly, to inspire you to remix your own closet pieces in different ways so your wardrobe always feels fresh and new.

i’m proud to say that for the most part, the looks i feature on shawna leeann are real outfits i wore in the wild. they range everywhere from fancier date night looks to casual outfits worn to do quick run through trader joe’s on a sunday afternoon. they are real examples of how i incorporate new seasonal pieces with beloved wardrobe mainstays to create a working closet that serves me both in my professional and personal life.

so with all of that said, here’s a look i put together for this weekend’s date night. after sporting this maxi skirt a few times to work with a classic black cashmere sweater, i decided to pair it with my cold shoulder top and embellished sandals for a more casual style. the cropped hemline of the top was perfect when paired with a slightly high-waisted skirt. to accent the green in the floral print (and our gorgeous surroundings and, well, maybe some dirty hair), i threw on my hunter green felt hat. it was the perfect third piece to make this outfit feel complete.

of semi-related note, would you like to see more of my work ensembles on the blog? due to our schedules, S and i are only able to shoot outfits on the weekends, thus the reason for showcasing mostly casual looks. but i could certainly arrange to shoot a few more professional ensembles if you’d like a peek into some looks i sport to the country club monday through friday. leave me a note in the comment section and let me know!

I’d say this is my favorite look on you but I’d be telling a fib because you look terrific in all your posts. This is a crazy cute ensemble. It looks like you’re having a great time in the pics.

You’re too kind. I really loved how this outfit turned out and I felt really pretty wearing it to our Mexican food date! I’m glad to know you’d also like to see a few work ensembles. I’ll see how S and I can facilitate that. Happy almost Friday! xoxo
