(easter) sunday funday

i hope you had a wonderful easter! S and i switch off between celebrating with his family and my own and this year, it was our turn to stay local with my parents. in previous years (weather willing), we’ve planned something active to do together in the morning to burn a few extra calories and enjoy the springlike temperatures before our breakfast feast. this year we decided to ride our bikes around a local park. i couldn’t tell you the last time S and i took our cruisers out for a spin so it was a treat getting to break them out from their winter hibernation. after riding around for an hour or so we had worked up an appetite, so we headed to swami’s, one of our favorite local breakfast/lunch spots. there we enjoyed an array of fresh fare including avocado toast, eggs, and chorizo hash.

knowing that we’d be heading back over to my parents house in the afternoon (post-shower), i saved my “easter outfit” for later in the day. instead i went with a casual look that was half sporty/half instagram-worthy ;). i’ve sung these leggings praises before, but you guys, seriously, they are the best and you should really get yourself a pair STAT. their high-waisted cut was perfect for bike riding, ensuring i didn’t give anyone behind me a little peep show (eek!). i paired them with a simple white tee and my denim jacket (which i mentioned in this post) to keep me warm, since it was pretty breezy on the trail. during our ride, we stumbled upon a cute little neighborhood with the most charming houses with the most gorgeous landscaped yards. i was obsessed with this pink flowering tree and set-up shop for a mini photo shoot with my beloved green cruiser. if only i had had some flowers for my basket!

Lovely post… great pics (kudos to the Mr.)… you look fabulous. The tree might be an Orchid Tree. The blossoms look just like mini orchids. I don’t know if they have a scent but they are a gift to the eyes. Also, they attract those big fat bees but if you leave them alone then there isn’t a problem. Besides, we need bees. Okay, back on track… thanks for the post. You look quite stylish atop your cruiser (I remember when the not-then Mr. gifted you with yours). Fabulous day for a fabulous couple!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter! I can’t recall if the flowers had a scent, I was just so taken with their color 🙂 You have a good memory -the bike was S’s first Christmas present to me and he knocked it out of the park.
