statement sleeves

remember when statement necklaces were all the rage? i’ll be the first to admit that i embraced that trend aggressively and actually just donated most of my collection since i have plenty of natalie borton creations to keep me accessorized these days.

while i’m no longer rocking statement necklaces, i do still enjoy making a statement with my outfit. nowadays that means wearing a standout garment like a statement skirt, or in today’s case, with a statement sleeve.

i spotted this top on nordstrom’s website a few weeks ago and immediately put it on my birthday wishlist. when it arrived, it was actually even cuter in person. since the eyelet trend is alive and well, i knew it would be perfect for summer -for both work (paired with these trousers) and the weekend (paired with these shorts). it’s also available in black, but i think the crisp white will be perfect to pair with denim, gingham, and anything blue and white striped.

speaking of striped, as mentioned last week, i just snagged these striped espadrilles and i’m obsessed. i cannot wait to wear them all summer long. how cute will they be with this denim dress i just treated myself to (at 25% off!) from j.crew?

looking to add a statement sleeve to your wardrobe for summer? i’ve linked some of my favorites below!

You look so lovely in the simple black/white. Nice location. The jacaranda blossoms are such a pretty shade (but they’re so messy). Your shoes, purse (and scarf tied to your purse) and straw hate just polish your outfit. You look so happy… (Great shoot Mr R)

Thank you so much (S thanks you, too!). You’re totally right about the jacarandas -they were so pretty but got all over the bottom of my shoes and caused a big mess! Oh well, the payoff for having a great backdrop 😉 Have a great week! xoxo
