whenever i think of the phrase “travel style” i immediately envision those spreads in the gossip magazines of victoria beckham and rosie huntington-whiteley walking through the airport in their big black sunglasses and some sort of terribly chic outfit that includes stilettos and a perfectly tailored blazer. while i’d like to *think* i could look as effortlessly refreshed after a long flight, the truth is, i just don’t have the energy. instead, when i prepare to dress for an international plane ride, comfort and ease trump everything else. so for our upcoming flight to canada on saturday, i’ve pulled out my coziest items.
let’s talk about these joggers for a minute. they. are. phenomenal. soft, silky, baggy, yet still figure-flattering. they are the quintessential travel pants. speaking of travel, they are a piece from my friend cindy karen’s new travel-inspired fashion line. she gifted them to me to wear on our trip and i am so happy to see how they hold up after a long travel day. since planes tend to be chilly, i chose to pair my joggers with my grey cashmere sweater, layered beneath my denim jacket (travel tip: wear your bulkier items like outerwear on the plane to save room in your suitcase), and of course, my new hobes leather sneakers. whenever i travel, i leave my day-to-day purse behind and opt for smaller crossbody bags. for the plane, i simply throw my wallet in an over-the-shoulder tote so i can also pack it with reading materials, travel documents, and of course, snacks. S got this personalized tote for my birthday last year and it continues to be one of the best carry-alls i own.
