despite how annoying they can be, i will give credit where credit is due. i discovered this top from an instagram ad. it came up in my feed, i fell in love, clicked on the link, realized it was currently 50% off, and bam, in a matter of a couple hours, i was picking it up at my local loft store. it’s scary how technology works these days. i suppose scary can also be translated as “highly efficient,” too. it just depends on which dictionary you’re using…
while i’ve been a regular loft customer for years, this top was my very first purchase from their acclaimed lou & grey line. and it most definitely won’t be my last. not only is this top incredibly cute (i will never not love a ruffled sleeve), but it’s equally as soft and well-made.
speaking of soft, this particular top is part of their “signaturesoft collection,” which includes pieces made from the most luxurious, comfortable fabrics. it’s like your cashmere sweater and favorite sweatpants had a love child. amazing, right? besides this top, i would love to snag this dress, these culottes, and this tunic.
on another note entirely –what happened to flare jeans? they were everywhere until they weren’t. isn’t it funny how trends work? at any rate, i pulled these babies out of my closet the other day and figured i’d take them out for a spin. i have pared down my denim collection over the last year (ditching pairs that no longer fit) and my flares are now the only dark denim wash i have. i forgot how flattering they can be when worn with a generous heel. legs for daaaayyyys. remind me again then why they went out of style?
