what i’m packing for thanksgiving weekend in la quinta

thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. there’s family, food, football, (black) friday sales. what’s not to love? as is the case with many couples, i’d imagine, S and i have alternated celebrating with his family and mine for the entire duration of our 3+ year relationship. this year it was my my family’s turn to host #teamrivera. with it being just the four of us, we decided to take our holiday on the road -out to one of my favorite places on earth the la quinta resort in palm springs. though we’re only staying a little over 48 hours, i figured it might be fun to see what i’m packing for our quick holiday getaway.

as with every trip we take (no matter the duration), i always always check the weather forecast before i get to packing. with temperatures in the high 70’s and mid-80’s during the day and in the 50’s at night -i know i could get away with fairly light-weight pieces, with a heavier jacket when we go out at night. since the only plans we really have are to relax, get massages, hike the nearby trails, and celebrate thanksgiving dinner at the resort’s on-site restaurant, i kept my wardrobe very casual and in a neutral color palette (always).

for the car ride to la quinta:

ruffled top + wide leg denim + leather mules + hoop earrings (c/o)

for thanksgiving dinner:

wrap dress + leather mules + tassel earrings (c/o) + faux leather jacket

bright lipstick + leather clutch

for black friday lounging:

eyelet tank + wide leg denim + leather mules + sun hat

bathing suit top + bottoms + sun hat

for car ride home:

cotton tank + silk joggers + leather mules + bandana

not pictured: pajamas & workout outfits. we plan on doing a morning hike on friday to work off our thanksgiving feast before treating ourselves to a couples massage!
