this friday, i’m in love with…

bodyrok encinitas || while i know i’ll always be a studio barre girl forever, lately i’ve been feeling the itch to add in a supplemental workout at least once a week. enter bodyrok. i took my very first sculpt class on wednesday evening and holy abs, batman, it was hard! in the best kind of way. i’m still feeling the effects now two full days later. needless to say, i’ll be back. it was a good reminder that a) it’s good to venture out of your normal routine b) a new workout is both challenging and (very) humbling and c) it feels good to be sore.

kelly leveque || thanks to one of my studio barre babes, i was recently introduced to kelly leveque, a holistic nutritionist and health coach to the stars (jessica alba, emmy rossum, and molly sims to name a few). kelly is best known for her “fab four” concept of combining protein, fat, fiber, and greens at every meal to maximize your body’s metabolism and ensure that it has the nutrients it needs to thrive. she’s also known for her delicious smoothies! anyway, last summer she released her first book, body love: live in balance, weigh what you want, and free yourself of food drama forever and after reading through excerpts and transcribing recipes off of her website all week, i’m now a BIG fan. in fact, i just bought tickets to her book signing at four moons spa next month! i know i don’t talk about food a lot on the blog, but healthy eating is a big part of my life so i’m excited to delve a little deeper into this on and off the blog. perhaps i’ll share some of my favorite of kelly’s recipes?!

rms beauty || i’ve been using rms beauty’s living luminizer for about a year and a half (it’s the best!), but i hadn’t really considered any other products from their organic make-up line until i read this post on gal meets glam this week. seeing as i only use all-natural skincare products, it would make sense that i try to carry that over into my make-up routine. first up? i’m definitely going to try their uncover-up concealer (which has great reviews) and perhaps one of their lipsticks.

p.s. rms beauty is responsible for giving j.crew models that effortless glow!

favorite outfits from the week include: jen’s post-partum outfits, liz’s striped dress, shannon’s eyelet top + military jacket & lisa’s LBD

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

favorite white cashmere sweaters

my trader joe’s haul

packing for nashville (we’re headed there next week!)

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:

getting a fresh highlight & trim

a visit to a local coffee shop (i think this one) + a beachside stroll (our new sunday tradition!)

after a week-long detox, i’m excited to stock our fridge with some NEW treats and kick-off a fresh approach to eating

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

everlane boss boots

hard & soft

as i mentioned above, i am almost done with a week-long detox (ends on sunday!). thankfully this detox allowed one cup of coffee per day (which i happily took advantage of). if you’re interested, it was part of my friend abbey gibb’s tired girl program and i was even able to customize it to be vegan (though i’m not technically vegan, i am vegetarian!). the program has included breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snacks and having all of the food pre-made and pre-proportioned has made it so easy and dare i say it, kind of fun. i’m not sure if i’ve lost any weight (which wasn’t the point), but i do feel lighter and more in tune with my body. it has also done wonders for my skin (fist pumps). anyway, with my body reset, i’m excited to go shopping this weekend to fill our fridge with healthy items to create delicious recipes from kelly leveque’s book. first up is recreating this (with shrimp) and making a batch of freezer fudge. anyway, i hope you have a wonderful weekender! i’ll see you next week.

xoxo
