this friday, i’m in love with…

madewell new arrivals || i swear this is something i’m in love with nearly every week, but my favorite store just keeps released new gems and i can’t help myself. top on my list are this striped tank & these button-fly shorts. below are a few more of my favorite pieces:

adidas edge lux running shoes || my girlfriend had these on in pink when she showed up to take the 6:00 a.m. bodyrok class with me on wednesday and i immediately fell in love. i’m not really in the need for a new pair of running/workout shoes at the moment, but i’m definitely bookmarking them for a future purchase. the best thing is? they’re under $100!

cup of jo’s trader joe’s recipe hacks || every month the blog cup of jo features a handful of recipes all based around a specific theme (breakfast treats, decadent desserts, soul-warming soups, etc.). this month highlights recipes created almost exclusively from trader joe’s products (i mean, right up my alley, right?). the first featured meal was an easy breakfast hash that looked perfect for breakfast in bed on a lazy sunday morning, and this week’s recipe for sweet potato gnocchi with spicy chicken sausage and mushrooms was so drool-inducing that my mom and aunt have already printed it to recreate next week. if you’re looking for delicious and easy (!) meal ideas using a handful of products from everyone’s favorite store, i highly recommend tracking the remaining recipes this month.

p.s. as a follow-up from last weekthis dress and these shorts ended up being duds so i promptly returned them, but as you know, this purse was a bit hit! keeping my eyes open for more simple summer dresses (i just ordered this & this) and an alternative pair of jean shorts -perhaps these?

favorite outfits from the week include: liz’s gingham dress, julia’s overalls, lisa’s striped skirt, shannon’s denim skirt (obsessed!) & kate’s floral skirt

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

tbd!

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:

sushi!

a visit with my nephews

a manicure/pedicure

+i’m getting acupuncture for the first time!

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

the perfect blouse for spring

straw bags

the best everyday jacket (that’s under $50)

so small announcement/story/fun news to share with you —

(no babies and no house yet, just to clarify)

no, this news has more to do with one of my personal goals in terms of growing this blog and expanding my love for personal style and fashion. a few years ago when i converted this space from an online diary of sorts to a fashion blog, my intention was to delve into the world of personal styling as well. but without any real experience (besides helping my mom put together outfits for vacations and big events) and overwhelmed by the logistics of how to start, my dream kind of fell by the wayside.

fast forward to a week ago, one of the girls that comes to studio barre posed the question if i’d help her plan some outfits for her upcoming european vacation. clearly flattered, i jumped at the opportunity. we’ve made a date for next week to go shopping for some new versatile pieces that she can mix and match all vacation long. i can’t wait to see how everything turns out and hopefully (fingers and toes crossed), this opportunity births future ones as well. i plan on sharing our experience together in a future blog post, so stay tuned. and since i’m not above a shameless plug, if you’re in need of some styling assistance, i’m more than happy to oblige! feel free to contact me using the form under the contact tab on the blog.

okay that’s enough self-promoting for now. have the best weekend. love you, mean it.

This was a super fun post today. I really like the madewell maxi tie-back summer dress. (I wasn’t able to see the simple summer dresses from mango… it just opened to their site… which btw has some really cute clothes.)
    Have a fabulous weekend.
