on my radar for spring

the weather has been amazing this week and it’s making me want to bust out all of the seersucker and gingham and have a picnic in the park with lemonade and homemade (gluten-free) sandwiches. sans ants. so in honor of the spring weather, i’m sharing some of the items currently on my radar this season:

wide-leg button-front jeans || we all know my love affair with wide-leg cropped pants so it would make sense that i’ve developed a mad crush on madewell’s latest style of denim -the button-front wide-leg jean. nevermind the fact that i already own a very similar pair, these ones have buttons! i would style them with a tight-fitting top like a sleek simple bodysuit and woven mules or with a wrap blouse and lace-up sandals.

feminine white tank || a white sleeveless blouse with dainty details can be a power player in your wardrobe once the temperatures rise. pair it with everything from jean shorts and sandals to cargo pants and block heels. mix it with a floral print or rock a monochromatic look with a crisp pair of white jeans. i currently have my eye on this one from loft, but i love this one, too.

gingham everything || if there’s a print synonymous with spring/summer, it’s gingham. the happy check is back in full force this season and i’m overwhelmed with the possibilities. i think this wrap skirt tops my list, but this tiered dress comes in at a close second. and then, of course, there’s this bathing suit, too. j.crew just released a bunch of new styles in the seasonal print this week and i truly want one of everything. whenever i sport gingham, i tend to leave the rest of my accessories fairly neutral to let the print take center stage. i’d pair the skirt with a simple black tank and mules, the dress with a denim jacket and wedge espadrilles, and the bathing suit with a cute cover-up set and big sunglasses.

wrap-tie blouse || one of the easiest ways to create an hourglass shape is to find garments that accentuate your waistline. this season’s wrap-tie blouse does exactly that (goal post emoji). there are a ton of options to choose from -everything from floral prints to muted pastels, each perfect for showing off those toned torsos. i’d pair them with the aforementioned jeans, or my favorite cotton crops, or a high-waisted skinny jean. they’d even work well with a pair of white denim shorts for a casual date night look. my favorites include this striped one, this denim version, and this polka dot number.

espadrille flats || normally i wear my espadrilles in lace-up form (i have these wedges and these flats) but i recently fell in love with a slip-on style and now i’m thinking they’d be the perfect addition to my (ever-growing) spring/summer shoe collection. like my trusty vans, a slip-on shoe is perfect for a gal on-the-go. they pair with everything from jeans to leggings, shorts to skirts! they’d also be a great travel shoe since they’re light-weight and comfortable. i’m loving all of the cheeky styles like this “c’est la vie” pair as well as this “ciao bella” version. other options include lemon print, french bulldogs (!), avocados, flamingos, and a playful wink.
