the more i hone in on my personal style, the easier i find shopping to be. now that i know what silhouettes work on my body, i can scroll through a batch of new arrivals and quickly deduce which items have the potential of becoming wardrobe heroes.
so when madewell released more of their late spring/early summer collection, it took about 0.5 seconds to decide that this dress would be a great addition to my closet. with a hunch that others might share my sentiment (last time i checked, it was almost completely sold out!), i ordered it right away in my usual size. it arrived about a week later and as expected, it was love at first try-on. unfortunately it runs a tad bit big but by the time i rechecked the website to see if i could order it in a smaller size, it was already sold out. so i called in reinforcements… my tailor! he was easily able to take in the sides to ensure a closer fit to my body.
madewell dress (wearing a 2, had to have it taken in)
natalie borton earrings (c/o) –currently sold out
after a day of productive packing, my parents hosted S and me to a cinco de mayo feast at their house. we had a full spread of delicious mexican food including plenty of chips (FINALLY tried siete chips and fell in love), salsa, fajitas, and guacamole. the weather warranted al fresco dining and provided the perfect opportunity to take my new maxi dress out for its inaugural wear. i have a feeling it’ll be on heavy repeat all season long.
