this friday, i’m in love with…
playstation vue || i mentioned last week on my instagram stories that after S and i cancelled our cable at the condo, we decided to try out playstation vue instead. it’s a streaming service so it runs through our wifi and it’s a fraction of the cost of what we were paying with time warner. we’ll be saving $70 per month! the best thing is, we still get all of the best channels -including our two most watched bravo (for her) and espn (for him). i’m only sorry that we didn’t make the switch sooner!
target storage || over the course of the last week, i’ve made three trips to target to purchase (and take back) things for the new home. oh the joys of home ownership! besides picking up your token toiletries and home supplies, i’ve spent the most time in the storage department buying a myriad of baskets and other receptacles to organize the heck out of every inch of our home. and let me tell you, they have the best selection! i picked up four of these to store sweaters, shorts, and tees in our master closet, a couple of these for cleaning supplies and to organize bottles in the shower, and these are my favorite for bathroom storage.
trader joe’s eucalyptus || after purchasing a few (five actually) of these cute vases, i knew i wanted to fill them with sprigs of fresh eucalyptus and scatter them throughout the house (most notably in the bathrooms). i asked S to pick up a few bunches on his weekly trader joe’s run this past weekend and he came back with two varieties -true blue and silver dollar (FYI, i had to google those names). i took a few sprigs of each bouquet and styled them in the vases and the end result is exactly what i envisioned in my head! (you can see how they look in this post). the best part was that the bunches are under $3.00 each so when they inevitably dry out, replacing them won’t break the bank. just another reason to love trader joe’s!

you guys, it’s JUNE! which means it’s officially S and my birthday month 🙂 my birthday is on monday (the 4th) and S’s is on the 13th so in honor of another candle on both of our proverbial cakes, so as you know, we’re headed out of town on sunday for a little road trip. i shared my packing list in yesterday’s post, but be sure to follow along via instagram (@shawnaleeann) for more peeks of our travels up the central coast, including my #ootds! i plan on sharing a ton on the blog in the coming weeks.
speaking of coming weeks, how are we liking all of the house posts? we moved everything else from the condo into the new house last weekend and officially spent our first nights in our forever home. it was and continues to be an absolute DREAM. i literally wake up every day with a huge smile on my face. we managed to take full advantage of the holiday weekend and got a TON done, enough to feel pretty settled! the master bathroom, closet, and kitchen are all in great shape and the guest bathrooms at least have towels, shower curtains, and rugs. the rest of the house will be a work in progress, but one that will be our greatest labor of love.
