this friday, i’m in love with…
beautycounter oils || my love affair with beautycounter just continues to grow with each passing product i try. after having the opportunity to sample a couple of their touted oils, i ordered the brightening and balancing facial oils as a birthday gift to myself. i realize i’ve only been using them for a little less than a week now, but i am already obsessed. not only do both versions smell delicious (the brightening oil has vitamin c in it so it smells like fresh citrus) but i can already see my complexion changing for the better. as i’ve shared in many previous posts, my skin had become problematic after terminating a nearly five-year stint with spironolactone (a common treatment for hormonal acne) back in september and it has taken nearly nine months to feel confident sans makeup again. one thing that has helped the process significantly has been employing many of beautycounter’s products. right now i use the brightening oil in the morning underneath my moisturizer, sunscreen, and tinted moisturizer. at night, after using the cleansing balm (which came as a free gift with purchase but i already love it, i plan on definitely reordering), i add a few drops of the balancing oil to let my skin renew itself while i sleep.
brixton joanna hat || another year, another straw hat. after seeing it on two of my favorite bloggers, i added this straw hat on my birthday wish list this year. my parents were sweet enough to get it for me and i’m super excited to incorporate it into my summer looks. it runs big because i have a huge dome and i’m in the small. while it comes in a few different colors, i ultimately opted for the “honey” color which comes adorned with a black ribbon. best news is that it’s under $50!
i have $25 off madewell for my birthday burning a hole in my pocket and i’m anxiously awaiting them to release some new arrivals so i can spend it! particularly this cute gingham tank.
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:
the perfect jumpsuit for summer
what to wear to a baby shower (for a boy!)
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:
a baby shower for my sweet cousin
celebrating with step-dad and father-in-law for father’s day
having the opportunity to visit rush cycle twice this week
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
hello! i’m back! i hope you had a great week last week and are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. summer weather has officially arrived in san diego and i, for one, am soaking up every second of it. we have a fairly busy weekend cooked up with a baby shower tomorrow and father’s day on sunday so i’m looking forward to relaxing tonight with takeout and the second season of queer eye which lands on netflix today!
have a great weekend and a big happy father’s day to all of the dads out there.
