the perfect swing dress

oh swing dresses, how do i love thee? let me count the ways! first of all, you’re the most universally flattering silhouette. secondly, you’re perfect for all four seasons, and thirdly, your twirlability is a 10/10!

in the case of this particular polka dot style, you’re also a STEAL at just under $30!

i actually wore this exact outfit on halloween, just a day after receiving the dress in the mail. after a few of the items i recently ordered from old navy turned out to be busts, i was so happy to find a W with this adorable frock. given the fact that we’re heading into the holidays (and potentially cooler weather, though you never know with san diego!), i love that it has longer sleeves. the jersey material is thin but not too thin, making it ideal for layering under heavier jackets like this oversized denim style, a faux leather option, or teddy coat. for a dressed up look, i would add opaque black tights, heeled black leather booties, lots of gold jewelry, and a bold red lip. it would also be adorable with a cozy scarf and over-the-knee boots. the possibilities are endless!

if dots aren’t your thing, the dress also comes in six other colors, including plain black, a floral print, and two different striped styles. if the dress is currently sold out in your size, just be patient, old navy tends to restock sizes periodically, so chances are, it’ll come back! also, the site literally has a sale every other day, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for promo codes for additional savings!

I LOVE this dress on you for many reasons. I lot dots… so very playful. The color is so versatile. The weight of the fabric lends to the twirl-ability which is always fun. But mostly, you look like you really enjoy wearing the frock… and that just makes it the best.

Thank you! I’m so impressed by its quality and design despite its price. I have a feeling I’ll be restyling it a zillion different ways this season.

      xoxo
