the coziest cardigan

for a gal that never brought a jacket to anything (“i’ll just think warm thoughts”), i’m all about outerwear this season. perhaps it’s the fact that i’m not having to think about “dressy” jackets to go over office-appropriate fashion or that for the first time in a while, we’re experiencing [as authentic as can be for san diego standards] winter-type weather, but whatever the reason, i’m embracing this newfound love for layering.

i’ve talked about this cozy cardigan on my instagram feed and in my stories, but i really cannot sing its praises loudly enough. while it’s a nylon fabric, it reads much more lux than the product description would lead you to believe. no exaggeration, i’d say the sweater weighs a good three pounds on its own -it’s HEAVY in a keep-you-warm-all-night-long kind of way. on a chilly evening, it was the perfect extra layer to pair over my polka dot swing dress and metallic mules. tights were an easy add to create more warmth and my natalie borton julia earrings (coming back to her shop, soon!) were the perfect gold compliment to the camel-colored cardigan. i hardly ever get dressed up anymore so this outfit definitely gave me a little pep in my step!
