peanuts & cracker jacks

on friday night, and almost on a whim (i say almost because we solidified these plans a mere day before, which for me, you have to know, is a big deal), my guy and i donned our finest baseball caps and enjoyed an evening at the ballpark. an evening only made possible by E’s gracious gesture of lending us her field level tickets when a date with a masked and spandexed christian bale had taken priority over a little baseball (i don’t blame her). so THANK YOU again, E!

and i forgot how much fun a live sporting event can be -the energy, the sights, the sounds, the food, each element an integral to the overall experience. and of course, there’s the game itself. which, on this particular evening proved to be quite memorable, too. i’d like to think it was our presence that made the difference, don’t you?

when asked what our plans included this weekend, “taking in a padres vs. rockies game” was far from the agenda. but i think that’s what i love about this dating thing, it’s teaching me to be spontaneous. to not insist on planning out every little detail, but rather, to allow for wiggle room should the unexpected opportunity come your way.

and most certainly if said “unexpected opportunity” manifests itself in the form of really really good seats to a padre game on the perfect summer evening in san diego.

Gee, really nice seats! Sounds like it was fun. The new ballpark looks great. You and “R” look relaxed – sort of like you’re having fun together! Both of you have great smiles.
