bravery

i heard this song recently on the radio and immediately feel in love with its melodic beat. it’s the kind of song that you blast while driving on PCH with your windows rolled down, hair playing in the wind, swaying your body in your seat with reckless abandon. and while i may or may not have recently done just that (aren’t you sad you decided to take the freeway home that day?), i think what i really love most about this song are the lyrics and the empowerment behind them. this concept of bravery. not just in the big things, but in the little things, too. sure, bravery can be found in climbing the literal mountains of life (half dome is no joke from what i hear), but sometimes the bravest moments can be found in tackling the figurative peaks that seem to park their way in the middle of our paths.

so whether your brave is speaking up (like the song suggests) or stepping out, commit to it and see it to fruition. make this your anthem this week. and next week, too. let’s be brave. i wanna see you be brave.

say what you wanna say
and let the words fall out
honestly I wanna see you be brave

with what you want to say
and let the words fall out
honestly I wanna see you be brave

“brave” | sara bareilles (see all lyrics)

p.s. the guy dancing in the library is my spirit animal.
