while i’ll always feel blessed for a number of reasons to have attended to pepperdine university (for one, let’s talk about the location, shall we?), i feel a little extra blessed and honored to have attended the private institution this time of year. because every 9/11, the school displays 2,977 american flags -one for every one of the victims and emergency responders -on alumni field in honor of those lost on that tragic day now twelve years ago. if you’re in the malibu area, i highly suggest a drive past the school to see the amazing display of patriotism. as i said, i’ll always be proud to wear orange and blue, but on this day i find a deeper appreciation for my alma mater.
