it’s friday, i’m in love || 2/6/15

my apologies for the lack of IFIIL posts the last two weeks, with our trip and getting back into the swing of things, and then getting sick this past weekend, my regular friday posting has fallen by the way side (thus is life).

but i’m back today and (hopefully) that’s all that matters, right? anyway, here are the six things that currently have me smitten. enjoy!

one || bye bye bravermans. with travel and a heck of a lot of reality tv coming in between me and the thursay night 10 p.m. time slot, i hadn’t watched an episode of parenthood in three weeks. so when the series finale happened last week, i did my best to avoid spoilers (and facebook) until i had the time to watch it. alone (i try not to subject S to my ugly cry). so if there was any silver lining to staying home sick with a cold on monday, it was that i finally had the opportunity to binge watch the final three parenthoods ever in the privacy of my own home with a box of tissues within arms’ reach. oh dear, it was all of the feels for three hours straight. and if i wasn’t already congested from my cold, i was strictly limited to mouth-breathing by the end. personally, i think they ended the series perfectly, showcasing best what the series has done for the past six seasons -portraying how anything is truly possible/achievable/endurable with the love, support, and comic relief of your family.

p.s. a great recap of the series finale

two || lucky number 7. on tuesday, S and i celebrated seven whole months together. crazy, right? what’s that they say? time flies when you’re having fun? i couldn’t agree more. happy seven months, babes. i love you.

three || this little piggie went to market. since the last time we all spent a significant amount of time together was christmas eve, my parents are treating S and i to a double date to market restaurant + bar on saturday night. if you live in the san diego area, you may be familiar with market’s approach to local cuisine. if not, well let me enlighten you! what makes market unique is that its menu is constantly changing. every day, the chef creates the evening’s menu inspired by the bounty he finds at the nearby farmer’s market. so aside from a few menu mainstays, the offerings are always changing based on what’s fresh and in season. for someone who usually loves studying the menu days before she goes to the restaurant, you’d think i wouldn’t like a revolving door of entrees, but everything i’ve ever had at market has been beyond delicious, so i’m excited to have the opportunity to go back and this time with my love in tow.

four || oops, he did it again. just when we thought we had seen the best lip sync-offs between jimmy fallon and his guests, he teamed up with funny men will ferrell and kevin hart this week to bring us yet another lol-inducing clip.

i was literally crying over will’s beyonce impression. he’s just too good.

speaking of will ferrell…

five || will or colin. what are famous farrells (or ferrells). S and i visited another famous farrell last saturday when we celebrated his niece’s 2nd birthday. we met his family in downtown brea at farrell’s ice cream parlour, an iconic restaurant and ice cream shop known for their large portions, delicious ice cream, and singing staff. it was quite the dining experience, let me tell you. but banging drums, and clever raps aside, we had a great time celebrating another 365 days of that little peanut. and added bonus, we were able to (finally) finish the serial podcast series on the drive home.

six || take a hike. last weekend, S and i accidentally ended up on a mini hike around the encinitas ranch golf course. we had originally planned on walking by the coast, but the annual cardiff kook 10K thwarted those plans. turns out, option B was an equally as pleasant way of squeezing in a little cardio before the super bowl. and not only that, it kick-started a desire to add a little hiking into our weekend repertoire. so we’re starting with the best hike in san diego (in my humble opinion): torrey pines. having never been himself, i’m excited to introduce torrey’s beauty to S for the first time. i’m equally as excited for the breakfast at honey’s i’ve been promised afterward as well.

i hope you have a wonderful weekend.
