it’s friday, i’m in love || 4/3/15

we made it! it’s officially the weekend, and not only that, it’s EASTER weekend which means chocolates, and bunnies, and egg hunts, oh my! growing up, easter was always one of my favorite holidays and decades later, i’m really looking forward to sharing that enthusiasm with S, too.

so before you hop on off to start your celebrations, here are the six things that had me smitten this week:

one || lilly pulitzer for target. remember that one time i stood in line with the other crazies out in front of target for the arrival of the prabal gurung collection? yeah, me too. well this spring, target has partnered with another top designer for a featured collection –lilly pulitzer -acclaimed maker of the printed shift dress and all things girly. the line of apparel, accessories, handbags, shoes, and jewelry doesn’t launch until april 19th, but you can peruse the complete collection now on target’s site. while i don’t plan on joining my fellow LP enthusiasts in front of target’s automatic doors two sundays from now, i won’t say i’m not entertaining hopping online for a little virtual shopping instead. the items i have my eye on? these pom pom shorts, these white eyelet shorts, and this strapless romper. welcome to target, miss pulitzer. we’ll see you on the 19th.

two || the long and the short of it. speaking of spring and fashion… momma and i braved the mall last saturday for a little spring shopping trip. unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on if we’re consulting our bank accounts), it was slim pickings. the cropped trend seems to be holding steady which is not good news for us long-torsoed gals but even aside from that, even my main players -j.crew, loft, gap, and madewell just didn’t seem to offer the inventory that normally makes me swoon. maybe my tastes have gotten pickier in my older age? at any rate, i did manage to score two new additions, the beloved leather sandal from the 3/20 edition of it’s friday, i’m in loveand these lace-overlay striped shorts from anthropologie in navy. and paired together, i think they’ll be a perfect summer date night look.

p.s. the sandals run tts.

three || ezra special. have you ever listened to an artist on the radio and envisioned them looking one way only to have that image completely bolstered when you finally saw them perform on say, saturday night live? well i have, multiple times, in fact (i had megan trainor pictured much differently). the latest being george ezra, who you may have heard singing his breakout hit, “budapest” on your radio station. he was the musical performer on this past weekend’s SNL (along with host, “the rock”) and when he appeared on stage, it was definitely not what i (nor S) expected. actually, he kind of resembles the guy from the fault in our stars, no? and on top of that, he’s BRITISH, something i’m always surprised to discover seeing as the accent is almost undetectable in song. anyway, regardless of what he looks like (i guess i just pictured him a lot older with that soulful voice of his), he’s really talented and sounds just about as good live as he does on the radio.

four || summer in san fran. it may still be three months away, but this week S and i nailed down the weekend in july we plan to visit M & M and their dog mayzie in san francisco. ever since returning from our jaunt to the pacific northwest, we’ve been scheming our next getaway. and after visiting the city by the bay so many times solo, i’m so excited to share in the adventures with my main squeeze. naturally, the four of us are already planning our weekend activities -around food, of course. hopefully our weekend trip involves brunch at plow, a visit to the ferry building, sipping a cup of philz coffee, and perhaps a day-trip to wine country. is it summer yet?

five || nine and feelin’ fine. today marks S and my NINTH month together and i can honestly say that i fall deeper in love with him with each day, let alone another thirty/thirty-one of them. it’s crazy to think that we’re just a few months away from celebrating a whole year as a dynamic duo but time must really fly when you’re having fun. we’ve managed to pack so much into these past three quarters that i’m anxious and excited to see what’s next.

so cheers to nine months of S & S, my love. thank you for consistently being my partner-in-crime, teammate, and best friend. i love you and i like you.

six || what kind of music does the easter bunny listen to?

hip hop.

as you know, easter is this sunday! i’m excited to report that S and i will be spending the spring holiday with my family -complete with brunch spread, easter baskets, and egg hunt. truthfully momma has been beside herself in excitement since we notified her of our availability (about a month ago) and i’m very interested to see what kind of shenanigans she has planned for us come sunday.

somebunny wants to wish you a hoppy easter.

i hope you have a wonderful and blessed easter weekend. may it be filled with tulips, and easter bonnets, and cadburry eggs.

see you next week!
