jean shopping. i can’t think of two scarier words (except maybe swimsuit shopping and whale watching). thankfully, stores like madewell exist to remove said fear. after hearing the praises of the store’s higher-rise skinny jean for months, i finally decided to try them on for myself and quickly learned what all the fuss was about. they’re tight without being sausage casing. and the high-rise waistband nips and tucks you in in all the right places. i loved them so much, i purchased them in black and this dusty grey.

for dinner one night, i decided to pair them with a feminine lace blouse, black flats, and a classic red lip. it was a simple, yet polished look that i think i’ll end up coming back to time and time again.
