it’s the weekend, it’s the weekend! and aside from that glorious fact, rumor has it (cue adele) the temperatures are going to be much nicer to us than they were last week. upper 70’s may still not be boot weather, but at least i can entertain the idea of wearing sleeves.

and because weather talk is so fascinating, i’ll move right along to the six things that had me smitten this week. you’ll see i’m breaking from tradition (gasp!) a bit, but after the past five days, i’m in the mood to talk about lighter topics like fall fashion and how i want to buy all of the things. enjoy!

one || golden hour: kendi everyday.  this week kendi posted gorgeous photos of a fall collaboration she did with old navy. the entire look just makes me want to escape to a cabin in montana where S can chop wood and i can wear flannel and relax in front of a roaring fire. see more photos and outfit details here.

two || fall arrivals at madewell. i featured my top sale picks from madewell earlier in the week, but there are a ton of new arrivals that i’m smitten with as well –this sweater, this plaid boyshirt, and this statement coat. looking for a bit more fall inspiration from madewell? here’s 8 fall rules to dress by (i definitely subscribe to rules #5 & 6!).

three || speaking of madewell… 70’s vibe stayin’ alive. my friend natalie modeled this season’s latest trend in denim -the flared jean for the glitter guide this week. check out her four styling tips for incorporating the 70’s style into your fall wardrobe. while the 70’s vibe isn’t really my style aesthetic, the flea market flares she wore in the post look so flattering, i’m considering giving them a try.

four || happily ever(lane) after. have you heard about the company everlane? they’re an online shop focused on bringing customers the basics at an affordable price. in a recent article on racked, the company’s CEO described everlane’s mission, “the clothing has a current point of view, but can also be worn in 10 years. it’s a very tricky thing to pull off. in our view, the best way to be environmentally sustainable is to create really great quality clothing that lasts and that has a lasting timestamp.” in 2011, the company launched with a simple cotton t-shirt, four years later, they now feature over 200 products in their online shop. they are transparent with their pricing and how each product is made, too. according to racked, everlane could be on its way to becoming the new j.crew (the j.crew of yore that produced quality wardrobe staples that transcended trend and time). this week, i hopped on the everlane band-wagon and ordered myself three pieces –the clean edge muscle tee, the sleeveless shirt in light denim, and the ponte short-sleeved dress. i’ll be anxious to see how they look and fit!

five || bien faire. i was originally introduced to everlane by the next item on my list. bien faire, a resource for ethical clothing with style. written by a sorority sister from college, the website captures cara’s journey toward building an ethical wardrobe. her most recent post lists 20 essentials for fall all under $200 -and shocker, there are quite a few pieces from everlane! for more adorable and ethical outfits, follow cara on instagram @bienfaire.

six || back in black. i recently stumbled across this unpublished photo from our photo shoot a few weeks back. with the weather being as hot as it is, i have yet to wear my new chapeau out of the house, but i’m hoping to find time this weekend to style a few outfits for next week, so stay tuned!

on that note, i hope you liked the different format of this week’s edition of it’s friday, i’m in love. have a great weekend, darlings!
