earlier this week, my mom sent me this photo. it’s circa 1994 (and yes that’s my real hair color) at her wedding to my step-dad and aside from the fact that my mom looks like a total babe on her wedding day and i’m the cutest with my freckles and gapped teeth (and humble about it, clearly), this photo feels even more special this year as the roles are about to change and i’ll be the bride myself in a matter of months (more on the status of wedding planning soon!).
but today is not about weddings, it’s about this lady. my momma, my confidant, partner-in-crime, and best friend. for years it was just me and you, two little peas in a pod. thank you for being the best mother a kid could ask for. thank you for giving me a life rich in support, humor, encouragement, consistency, fun, and above all else, love. you have always been my biggest cheerleader and number one fan and i thank God everyday that i was lucky enough to be paired up with you.
happy mother’s day, momma.
you have made everyday as your daughter a dream come true and i love you with my whole heart.4
