little white dresses

there’s this weird thing that happens after you get engaged. despite not having a large affinity for white clothing most of my life, all of a sudden, it’s the only thing i want to buy. which makes me a little nervous given the fact that i’m prone to spillage. ANYWAY, with showers and other wedding-related events on my horizon, i have already started the hunt for a couple of little white dresses to add to my repertoire.

that’s why it was serendipitous when the sweet team from tobi offered to send me a few pieces from their collection. after a quick perusal of their site, i landed upon two LWD’s that will be perfect to sport over the course of the next eight months leading up to my big day (and perhaps on my honeymoon, too!).

what i loved most about both designs is the fact that they took me out of my comfort zone. overall i’d say my style is pretty conservative, so the fact that one of these dresses is sheer and the other has a cut-out is a definitely a first for me. but you know what? yolo. actually yobo (you only bride once). so if you’re looking for the perfect bridal look (whether for a shower, bachelorette weekend, or related occasion), here are two styles to consider!

this first dress immediately caught my eye. the length and bow detailing make it flirty and feminine, but the cut-out at the mid-drift gives it a sexy edge. i love the idea of pairing it with a pair of leather sandals and rose flower pin for a sweet bridal shower look, and then remixing it for our honeymoon (most likely in GREECE) with a straw hat and lace-up flats.

the second dress is probably closer to my usual aesthetic. as soon as i saw the lace detailing, i was sold. again, what i admire about tobi’s designs are their unexpected details. this could have been just another pretty lace dress, but the deep v in the back and the sheer overlay give it visual interest (and slight sex appeal). for that reason, i’d probably reserve this garment for a fun dinner out with my girls over my bachelorette weekend. i’d pair it with my nude t-strap pumps, gold jewelry, and a simple crossbody bag. but it would also make a fun honeymoon date night look (as modeled above) when dressed down with my black lace-up espadrilles, panama hat, and a flirty red lip.

since summer is a popular time for couples to say “i do!”, there’s a high probability that you’ll still find yourself at a wedding this summer -even if it’s not yet your own. whether as a bridesmaid or a guest, tobi has a ton of options to help outfit you for the big day:

semi formal dresses || little black dresses || bridesmaid dresses

cocktail dresses || maxi dresses || jumpsuits

and even BETTER news, all new customers get 50% off their first order! so what are you waiting for? get shopping!

thank you again to tobi for two perfect little white dresses to outfit me throughout my season as a bride-to-be.
