can i be honest for a second? blogging has been a struggle lately. i have about 1329071597 things going on and because S and i are only able to shoot on the weekends, the photo shoots are oftentimes the first things to get bumped in favor of honoring date night, spending time with our families, and crossing off items from our ever-growing list of pre-wedding to do’s.

in that last month or so, i actually started to feel really guilty that i wasn’t keeping up with the content as i first was when i refocused the blog last year. but then again in october 2015, i wasn’t also planning a wedding and combining households with my fiancé in the midst of working two jobs and maintaining somewhat of a social life.

at any rate, after feeling pretty lousy for the past few weeks, i decided to give myself some grace and concluded that if my current schedule only allows for two to three posts a week (at best), then i’m at peace with that. inevitably this busy season will end and when it does, hopefully i will be able to devote more time and efforts toward building this blog.

but in the meantime, i think i’ve discovered another way to create additional content that will add little to no additional stress. thanks to my friend natalie (who gave me the novel idea), i recently ordered a tabletop tripod and remote clicker to sneak daily outfit photos when my (future) #instagramhusband isn’t available to capture them during the week. through the magic of blue tooth and a corresponding app on my iphone, i can prop up my phone’s camera pretty much anywhere and capture what i happen to be wearing that day. i plan on sharing a lot more of these shots on instagram (make sure you’re following along! @shawnaleeann) as well as in regular #shawnaleeannstyle lately posts.

speaking of #shawnaleeannstyle lately, below are some ensembles i’ve worn over the past few weeks and details on where you can find some of the goodies (or similar alternatives) i’m wearing. as always, thanks for following along my humble musings. i appreciate you all so much!

Yay! Isn’t the tripod/clicker situation amazing? Takes so much pressure off the guys, haha. Also, I’m OBSESSED with your gorgeous long hair and also that look with the gingham skirt. So good!

It really is! It takes a little getting used to, but I think I’m getting the hang of it! You’re too kind, friend. Thanks so much! xo
