it has been almost five months to the day since i found, fell in love, and said “yes! to the dress” but on sunday, my dress and i were reunited and this whole “we’re actually getting married in three months” thing started to feel REALLY real.
i would imagine there’s a common fear amongst brides to be that they’ll see their dress again after weeks and weeks apart and somehow no longer feel that spark about it as they once did. i assure you that if you really go with your gut when you first select the gown, those original goosebumps will reappear just as promptly as they did when you first slipped it on. and that’s exactly what happened for me. i really cannot wait until the big reveal, it’s killing me to keep it so under wraps!
but let’s talk about this outfit, shall we? if ever there was an ensemble that screamed “shawna!” i think this would be it. ruffled blouse? check! high-waisted skinny jeans? check! d’orsay flats? check! natalie borton necklace? check! mermaid waves? check and check! it’s the kind of outfit that makes me feel casual but still pulled together and it was the perfect ensemble to run around in on sunday as mom and i picked up my wedding dress and took it directly to the seamstress for my first fitting. the great news is that the dress fits like a glove and the alterations will be pretty minimal. the even greater news is that i’m still 1000% obsessed with it and cannot wait to see the whole bridal look come together on the big day. y’all i get teary-eyed just thinking about it.
