holiday neutrals

with the wedding falling so close to the holidays, we’ve scaled back on our social calendar this year. not that S and i are party animals by any means, but these days we live for any quiet afternoon/evening we can get. however, just because we’re not painting the town red this holiday season doesn’t mean i can’t put together festive party outfits to act as inspiration, right? plus, i’m thinking that most of my holiday-inspired looks can totally double as possible options for the rehearsal dinner mostly for the fact that they involve a neutral color palette and lots of feminine details.

you may remember this bell-sleeve sweater from this post. since i styled it pretty casually last time, i wanted to elevate it a bit by pairing it with my favorite tulle skirt. i call this skirt my “adult tutu” because it always makes me feel like a ballerina. it’s one of those items in my closet that has the power to instantly put me into a better mood, so naturally it’s one of my go-to pieces this time of year. to soften the look i opted for a nude-colored pump instead of classic black and accented the creamy color palette with my white heidi necklace (available here) and glittery clutch i nabbed years ago at j.crew factory. this outfit is flirty and feminine, i think it might just be what i wear to christmas eve dinner with my family.
