french girl style

2 Permalink 6

to me, french girl style is the epitome of chic. always classic, never stuffy or overthought. simple yet thoughtful and always worthy of replication. today it was the inspiration for this outfit which i happily created with a few pieces of my closet i had never thought to pair together until now.

j.crew top (similar) || madewell denim || sam edelman pumps

madewell bandana || anthropologie clutch (similar) || bareminerals lipstick in “risk it all”

when i think of the elements of dressing like a french girl, three aspects come to mind -a black and white color palette (usually in striped form), minimal accessories, and a bold red lip. i remixed these black crops for a dressier occasion by pairing them with my patent leather pumps and this ruffled bell-sleeve blouse i snagged at j.crew last summer. sadly it’s no longer available in this version but j.crew reworked the same silhouette for spring offering it in pastel hues instead (i’ve linked them below). to really make it feel perfect for a parisian getaway, i added my madewell bandana (last seen here) around my neck and painted on the perfect cherry-colored pout.
