this friday, i’m in love with

strut-this || for how often i’m in spandex leggings, i don’t discuss workout wear on the blog nearly enough. perhaps i’ll have to change that in the future. at any rate, i’m going to let you in on a little secret about one of my favorite workout apparel brands, strut-this. they offer an array of unique and affordable leggings, sports bras, tanks, and outerwear in the most comfortable and flattering styles. i’m slowly transitioning my workout wardrobe to reflect my love for neutrals (it’ll make it so much easier putting together outfits for the studio) so i recently picked up a few pieces to help get me there. though i’m fortunate enough to snag my leggings at a discount (perks of being a barre instructor!), i am happy to report that all of strut-this’ pants are under $100! i picked up these, these, and these, as well as this tank in light grey and black (i already own it in white and dark grey and am obsessed. it’s beyond comfortable and perfect for keeping you cool during a workout!). shop some of my favorite pieces below:

natalie borton necklaces || take a peek at any outfit i post here or on instagram and chances are the necklace i’m sporting is a natalie borton original. if you haven’t yet perused her jewelry collection, i highly suggest you do (mother’s day is right around the corner!). her pieces are unique yet classic and the perfect compliment to any outfit no matter the occasion. her latest creation, “the conni necklace” is set to release soon. it’s a stunning grey tassel necklace with pink accents and the product of a collaboration with another friend and style blogger, conni jespersen of art in the findif necklaces aren’t your thing, natalie has a beautiful line of tassel earrings as well. check our her recently updated blog, here.

elizabeth suzann || after reading this article last week and seeing caroline remix her black silk tee four ways this week on her blog, un-fancy, i can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous minimalist designs of elizabeth suzann. much like doen, ES pieces are definitely an investment. from elizabeth suzann’s website, “we strive to create thoughtful, well-designed, and long-lasting garments. by ultimately creating seasonless pieces that can be worn a myriad of ways, we aim to discourage the disposable view of clothing that has become increasingly pervasive. our hope is to return to the days of a minimal, functional wardrobe worthy of care and passing on. we work hard to pare a design down to its true essence, removing anything that is nonessential. we seek classic silhouettes that are still modern, with style that transcends time and place. it is our hope that by producing and consuming mindfully, we can focus on craftsmanship, reduce waste, and create truly impeccable clothing for the discerning customer.” while i may never subscribe to a true capsule wardrobe, i am finding the mantra “fewer, better things” more and more appealing.

from her current collection, i’m loving this linen gauze tee, this cotton tunic, these cotton wide-leg pants, and this silk midi dress.

madewell’s late spring arrivals || i popped into madewell on sunday to try on a few things i had spotted online. the store is gorgeous right now -filled with a mixture of bold primary colors and muted hues. i ended up trying on this dress, this dress, and this tank. while they were all cute, i sadly left the store empty-handed (the ruffled dress ended up making look 12). lucky for me (and for you!) there are plenty more spring styles for me to try on (and possibly snag) on a future visit. i’m loving these white wide-leg cropped jeans (as if i need another pair!), this message tank, this cold shoulder jumpsuit, this ruffle-sleeved top, this denim off-the-shoulder blouse, and these metallic sandals.

favorite outfits from the week include: julia’s denim dress, caroline’s silk shirt + overalls, shannon’s tie-waist shorts, and samantha’s cropped jeans.

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

adventures with shawna leeann -exploring la jolla, ca

eyelet pieces to snag before summer hits

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:

mexican food tonight (duh)

exploring la jolla with my husband

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

olive juice (an ode to my favorite color of the season)

a morning at the leucadia farmer’s market
