it’s friday, i’m in love || 6/30/17

this friday, i’m in love with…

tie-shoulder detail || in perusing for light-weight dresses to add to my summer collection, i’ve noticed the trend of tie-shoulder straps. aside from its practicality (makes the straps easy to adjust for a better fit!), i love the bow detail. i was immediately drawn to this one from madewell but was unsure if it would be both see-through and too much fabric for my frame. i’m happy i waited though because i just ordered this striped one from abercrombie (again, gotta love those birthday discounts!) and hopefully it arrives just in time for our trip! i’ve rounded up a few more cute (and affordable) options here:

tassel earrings || it takes a lot to get me out of my oversized pearl earrings, but after natalie gifted me these tassel earrings, i can’t seem to stop wearing them (as evidenced here & here). i’ve worn them to work (and subsequently to barre class –fancy) three times this week and plan on wearing them to saturday’s date night, too. i also just scooped them up in the silver/white combination but these red ones would be perfect for 4th of july!

big brother || season 19 (!) of my favorite summer guilty pleasure premiered this week and i’m so happy to have it back. given my already full reality tv viewing schedule, it will be a task keeping up with three new episodes per week, but this is what i train all year for, people. fun fact: a mutual love for big brother is the very first thing my in-laws and i bonded over. S’s mom and i both have deep-rooted affections for season two villain and winner, dr. will kirby. also julie chen is my spirit animal.

p.s. with our trip now just two weeks away, the subject of travel pillows came up between S and i the other night. are they a do or a don’t? who knew there were so many options?

favorite outfits from the week include: jen’s adorable blue maxi (and even cuter baby bump!), all of jess ann’s 4th of july-inspired looks (especially the striped bikini!), julia’s adorable red and white polka dot dress, and alicia’s gingham high-waisted bathing suit

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

cute bathing suits under $50

business in the front, bow in the back

fourth of july style (of course!)

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:

sleeping in(!)

double date for pizza with my parents

teaching new choreography at studio barre

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

gluten-free waffles

three shoe styles i’m packing for my honeymoon

my favorite blue & white striped pieces for summer

i seriously can’t believe today is the last day of june! if you have an extra long weekend in honor of the 4th of july holiday, lucky you! i’ll be back first thing next week with a sneak peek of what i’ll be wearing to ring in america’s birthday. have a good one!

Another fun post. I like both tie dresses and the one you selected has more possibilities to accessorize… great choice!
Although I love our pillows, we leave them home when we travel. I’d be quite upset if I left them behind somewhere.
Your honey-trip is fast approaching! Take lots of pictures. You’ll both have a blast.
