this friday, i’m in love with…

quebec city || you guys, i have so many thoughts and feelings about our time in quebec. it is truly a magical city with so much charm and french-influence. to say we loved it would be an understatement. admittedly, after sharing so much already on instagram, i’m kind of leaning toward keeping most of the details of our trip just between S and me. however, i do plan on rounding up all of our favorite spots (including gluten-friendly restaurants) in a future post, so stay tuned for that!

trader joe’s new-to-me products || if you’re a trader joe’s junkie like me, you’re probably well-aware of the next two items i’m about to gush over, but i recently tried them for myself and wanted to share my two cents. first up is the red lentil pasta which i have spotted a few times over at the skinny confidentialeven before i decided to go gluten-free, i hardly ever ate pasta, but every now and then, i crave an italian-style meal. so i tried out the red lentil pasta a few weeks ago and i have to say, i’m a fan. true pasta connoisseurs be warned, the texture is much gummier and a little thicker than normal noodles, but with some roasted zukes, meatless meatballs (also from trader joe’s) and covered in tomato sauce, it’s a pretty decent alternative. the other product i recently tried was their cauliflower pizza crust. first of all, between using it as an alternative to rice and now as a crust, cauliflower is definitely having the best year ever (sorry, kale, you have been dethroned). while i much prefer my cauli in a “rice” bowl, i didn’t find the pizza crust to be entirely offensive. there is a bit of prep work involved (you have to cook it on both sides first before adding sauce and toppings) but overall, it wasn’t half bad. make no mistake, it doesn’t really taste anything like the gluten-free crusts i’m accustomed to, but it is a nice alternative if you’re looking for a slightly healthier alternative. i ate half and saved the other for the following evening.

j.crew floral eyelet top || as soon as i saw this floral eyelet top in the promo for j.crew’s latest batch of arrivals, i ordered it immediately. i loved its dainty feminine details and when it arrived, it’s even BETTER in person. it also comes in navy, but i think the ivory will be perfect for pairing with high-waisted skinny jeans and booties come fall. i found it to run true to size, but i like my tops on the looser side. it’s under $80 so if you want a statement blouse perfect for the end of summer and into fall, snag one soon!

favorite outfits from the week include: jacey’s ruffled skirt (i own it in the striped version!), alicia’s striped bathing suit, julia’s black and white blazer, and natalie’s LND (little navy dress)

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

TBD -with the temperatures so hot and humid lately, i’m not certain we’ll be able to get out for a photo shoot this weekend, so instead i hope to round up my favorite spots and photos from our trip to quebec!

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:

grilling for our date night in (we’re making this salad!)

a coffee date & beach side stroll with my momma

teaching my saturday morning studio barre classes (after two weeks away, i realized how much i love/missed my studio barre community!)

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

chambray in quebec city

shea & ruby

everlane wide-leg crops

i’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that it’s already AUGUST. and while i’m still very much enjoying summer, i can’t help but think that there are only 34 more days until football season starts again. i love you summertime, but fall’s my favorite. have a wonderful weekend, loves!
