a new way to chambray

0 Permalink 2

a classic chambray is easily one of the top five must-haves for any wardrobe. it’s classic, it’s versatile, and a power player in all four seasons. tie it around your waist, throw it over a bathing suit, tuck it into a pencil skirt, or make your own canadian tuxedo by pairing it with your favorite pair of jeans (my favorite way to wear it).

lately, i’ve noticed a trend to recreate the classic button-down. from ruffle-front details to bell sleeves, the humble chambray is getting a makeover for fall and i for one am HERE for it. below are my current favorite styles:

madewell ruffle-yoke top || j.crew ruffle-front chambray

loft tie bell sleeve top || j.crew off-the-shoulder tie-neck top

AEO puff sleeve chambray || loft flounce cold shoulder shirt

rails chambray bell-sleeve chambray || splendid chambray buttondown

rails tied chambray buttondown || banana republic ruffle-front chambray

joie akari chambray top

p.s. if you’re looking for the best classic chambray, j.crew’s “everyday chambray” has never steered my wrong.
