silk joggers two ways

1 Permalink 10

when i wore this outfit on the plane to quebec city, i literally had two flight attendants stop me and ask me where i got these joggers. one lady went as far as to write down cindy karen’s website on her hand so she could order them as soon as she got off the plane. needless to say, these joggers have been a big hit –most notably in my own closet. i had yet to fully embrace the jogger trend, but my first pair certainly made a quick convert out of me.

knowing how much i enjoyed my first pair, cindy karen recently sent me a second pair in black and now i’m not sure which color i love more! unlike the navy blue ones, the black ones almost feel like a tuxedo pant, perfect for dressing up. i actually just wore them to work with a pair of black pumps and a blouse and totally felt office appropriate despite also feeling like i was in a fancier pajama pant. the best of both worlds if you ask me!

anyway, i recently had a request for ideas on how to style a pair of these joggers (particularly what kind of shoes to wear with them), so i figured i’d feature two looks -one on the more casual side, and one on the fancier side. hopefully they provide a little inspiration!

as i mentioned above, the black version of these pants automatically feels a tad bit dressier than their navy counterpart, so it was easy for me to elevate them for a date night look by pairing them with a metallic top, statement earrings, and black heels. even though this tank is from last fall, it still feels new as i hardly think to wear it. i love how the pop of gold stands out against all of the black while also complimenting the hardware of the earrings. since evenings tend to be on the chilly side this time of year, i added my faux leather jacket in a rich camel, though i’m currently eyeing this black version. i recently wore this outfit on a date night to our favorite gastropub. i may have been a tad bit overdressed, but sometimes it’s fun to feel fancy, right?

after styling the navy version of these joggers for a long travel day here, i wanted to switch it up a little for this casual look. i started with my favorite sleeveless chambray –since we’re experiencing a major heat wave –but you could definitely do a long-sleeved version if the temperatures are cooler where you are (heck, layer a cashmere sweater over it for an even cozier look). since i love a good black and camel combination, i once again opted for my mules and complimented them with the addition of a wood bead necklace. a wide-brimmed hat finished off the look because in all honesty, on the days i dress more casually, i usually don’t do my hair so a hat is the perfect distraction for untamed locks.

aside from pumps and slides, i’ll definitely be styling my joggers with d’orsay flats and my low-heeled suede booties. on top, i’ll rotate in a striped tee (paired with a denim jacket) and a quilted vest (layered over a chambray). if a stiletto isn’t your jam, i also recommend a block heel and for those digging a tomboy vibe, a leather oxford would perfect paired with a structured blazer.
