packing for nashville

0 Permalink 7

cue up the country music and break out the bbq, we’re headed to nashville on thursday, y’all!

as part of S’s anniversary present (in honor of the “paper” tradition for year one), i surprised him with tickets to one of our favorite comedian’s shows. the only problem was that iliza shlesinger’s tour wasn’t coming through southern california. SO i had the brilliant idea of coordinating with one of my best friends who lives in nashville to purchase tickets to one of iliza’s shows there and make a long weekend out of it. the added bonus is that my sister now goes to vanderbilt and we get to spend time with her while we’re there as well! we really can’t wait.

despite a recent warming front that brought temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s to the area last week, the forecasted weather for this weekend look a little shocking for this born and bred southern california girl. think the possibility of SNOW on friday! so all the layers, please and thank you! i’m definitely bringing along this coat and my janessa leone hat, too. and probably a pair of gloves. here are a few other pieces i plan on packing and how i’ll be styling them while we’re there:

i think this trip might mark my 10th (!) visit to music city, usa (i’ve lost count)? and every time i touch down at the nashville airport, it feels a little like coming home. the last time S and i visited it was actually for B’s wedding (who we’re visiting) which was almost two and half years ago, so we’re so excited to be back with a bit more time to explore. personally i can’t wait to visit all of the local coffee shops (here, here & here) and eat all of the delicious food. most importantly, i’m looking forward to a fun getaway with my husband and quality time with some of my favorite people.
