channeling spring

while it’s still technically winter (according to the calendar at least), san diego has been having spurts of warm weather lately and it’s definitely getting me excited about spring. and accordingly, a spring color palette. when madewell released its latest batch of new arrivals recently, i spotted this adorable ruffled peplum top and immediately snatched it up with some leftover christmas money. when it arrived a few days later, it lived up to its online hype.

i don’t know if it’s the blush color, the peplum hem, or the ruffled sleeves (probably a combination of all three!), but this blouse epitomizes femininity (meaning it’s right up my alley!). with its flowy silhouette, i plan on pairing it with pants that fit closer to the body -like a good pair of skinny jeans. in this instance, i decided to tuck the front hem to give my waist a little definition in these wide-leg crops. i finished off the look with all of my cognac accessories.

if pink stripes aren’t your thing, the top also comes in black silk and this pretty floral pattern.
