this friday, i’m in love with…

aimee song’s roasted sweet potato recipe || the amount of recipes i’ve found while perusing instagram seriously grows by the day. my latest discovery comes from super blogger, aimee song of song of styleturns out that in addition to fashion, aimee loves a good sweet potato. me, too, girl, me, too. i was craving sweet potatoes on monday so i tried her baking method and it worked perfectly. holy moly, who knew just a few tweaks to the my regular cooking strategy could result in even tastier taters! the recipe is saved under her instagram stories, so you can watch the video there, but essentially you cut the potatoes lengthwise and give them a hearty coating of evoo and sea salt before baking them flesh side down on a baking sheet at 400-degrees for 30 minutes. after the timer goes off, shut the oven off and let them sit for an additional 15 minutes. cover with trader joe’s everything but the bagel seasoning and enjoy. try not to eat the entire pan.

rush cycle || you may remember from last week’s post that i was gearing up for my first rush cycle class (slash my first spin class in at least five years) and i was feeling a bit nervous about the experience. well, i survived so that in and of itself is a win, but more than that, i actually really really enjoyed it. unlike the traditional spin classes i have been accustomed to, the rush class was interactive. we were dancing, we were keeping the beat, the instructor was running up and down the aisles. it was all very exciting and totally distracting from the actual work at hand. and just when i thought my legs were about to fall off, we were done! gotta love a 45 minute class. and the best part was, i was emailed my results after class so i could get a peek at how i performed -the summary even included how many calories i burned and where i ranked amongst my classmates (7th!). needless to say, i take back all the things i’ve said about cardio. in fact, i’ve already signed up to ride this sunday, too.

chelsea28 striped bathing suit top & bottoms || for someone who hardly ever wears a bathing suit, i’ve certainly been crushing on them hard lately. the latest object of my aquatic affections is this cute striped bathing suit top and high waisted bottoms from nordstrom’s brand, chelsea28. both pieces are under $50 (under $100 for both) which is really a steal for something that –for the normal person -would get a ton of wear. maybe if i purchased it, it would encourage me to get to the beach? or in the very least, a trip to the omni la costa spa?

sezane’s 1977 “the new parisien” jeans || scrolling through instagram this week, i happened up an image featuring these jeans on sezane’s account. i stopped in my tracks. well hello, gorgeous jeans. they’re definitely more than i normally spend on denim so i’ve wishlisted them for now. see the rest of sezane’s gorgeous new collection here.

favorite outfits from the week include: julia’s skirts, alicia’s bodysuit (makes me want one of my own!) & white button-down, lisa’s jumpsuit, molly’s ruffled sleeves, natalie’s cardigan, jacey’s sweater & caroline’s 10×10 outfits (i’m always so inspired by her capsule wardrobes)
