we may be a couple weeks past april 25th (the perfect date), but i will say, the weather has been really great lately. not too hot, not too cold, and all you need is a light jacket.
speaking of light jackets, the dried herb version of this jacket finally arrived last week and it’s even better in person. i know i keep saying this, but it is such a good dupe for madewell’s iconic fleet jacket. i actually prefer the mossy green color of the old navy version to madewell’s and the fit is less boxy. i’m wearing the regular x-small and it fits well through the shoulders with plenty of length to accommodate my monkey arms.
when it comes to neutrals, most people tend to think in terms of black, white, grey, and brown (camel). but olive (or in this case a more muted green) can be just as much a power player in terms of your wardrobe. in fact, as we move into summer and begin reaching for brighter hues and patterns, colors like olive and navy are great alternatives to your usual black and brown. they do as any neutral does –compliment without competing. i played up the subtle green of this floral top by pairing it with the moss jacket. by doing so, it provided a canvas for the gorgeous pattern to pop even more. a pair of rose colored flats and my olive tassel earrings completed this denim look, perfect for an afternoon spent in the chilly movie theater watching avengers infinity war. which is exactly how we spent our mother’s day.
curious to see how i’ll be styling this jacket (if only to justify purchasing it for yourself)?
i’ll pair it with this dress, with these pants and this top, and with these shorts, a simple tee, and tennies for a quick errand run. i’ll definitely be packing it on our vacation next month (more on that soon)!
