my recent target haul

2 Permalink 5

on sunday my mom and i took a visit to the bulls eye. we went a little crazy but in a productive kind of way. here are a few items we bought for casa de rivera:

hearth & hand tray || i mentioned this in yesterday’s post, but we managed to track down one of these trays from joanna gaines’ hearth & hand with magnolia collection for target, and the quality is what one would expect from the hgtv darling. the tray is substantial, made from steel with charming gold detailing. it even has a tiny placard on the front boasting the line’s name. once we got home from our shopping trip, S and i took a quick trip over to the new house so i could start styling a few of the purchases. i immediately put this tray in the master bath and plan to fill it with all of our counter top necessities (face wash/lotion, sunscreen, hair products, etc). you could also use it atop an ottoman in a living room to organize coasters and remotes or as a serving tray for snacks and beverages during an outdoor bbq!

threshold dye clipped shower curtain || let’s face it, shower curtains aren’t exactly a thrilling purchase. but thanks to target’s threshold line (still my favorite brand under the target umbrella), they can be! coming from the condo, we already have one shower curtain that will work well (it’s sold out online but it’s also from threshold with a ruffled trim along the bottom), but we needed a second one to outfit the other bathroom (the master is a stand-alone shower with a door). i chose this off-white version with a subtle diamond pattern. i think it’ll look great with the fringe towels (see below) and ivory colored bath rug (also below).

threshold performance bath rug || full disclosure, i may not have measured properly before purchasing this rug (and a few others like it) so there’s chance it won’t be finding a permanent location in our home. BUT i wanted to at least speak to its quality (not to mention the color selection). it’s thick enough to absorb water when exiting the bath, yet still soft to feel plush beneath your bare feet. it’s also under $20 which is a steal. i purchased it in the “dog bone” shade which is a light taupe color.

hearth & hand vase || okay so this vase might be my favorite purchase of the day. in fact, i purchased two at the store and then immediately came home and bought three more online. and i’m not 100% positive that a few more won’t show up in the coming weeks as the house starts to come together. you guys, joanna did it again. this vase if the perfect accent piece for any room. i plan on putting one in each bathroom (two in the master bath because counter space!) and i think one out in the formal dining room on the buffet table. i also envision one in the kitchen and perhaps one atop one of our nightstands. i plan on filling them with eucalyptus sprigs or even fresh baby’s breath when i get the motivation to pick up some at our local farmer’s market or trader joe’s. i opted for the smaller version, but hearth & hand also offers a slightly larger style for $5.00 more.

threshold knotted fringe towels || i’ll admit that i’m super picky when it comes to bath towels. it took a long time to find the ones that S and i use in our bathroom and they’re not even that crazy (we have these & these). equal to the importance of their aesthetic, i always want towels to feel comfortable. you’d be surprised at how many itchy or stiff towels there are out there. so when i landed upon these threshold fringed cuties, i knew they’d be perfect in a guest bath. they’re in keeping with the neutral theme but the subtle checked design gives them a bit of character. and of course, they’re super cozy. i highly recommend.

room essentials washcloths || to pair with the aforementioned towels, i picked up a multi-pack of washcloths in a light cocoa shade. while normally i would reach for white, i figured that the cocoa color would hide makeup stains :).

room essentials shower rings || to go with the not-so-exciting shower curtain purchase, we picked up some not-so-exciting shower rings. we’ve had decorative hooks in the condo, but they’ve started to fall apart over time and often came unhooked mid-shower. i decided to keep it simple this go around and reach for the traditional lucite ring. we’ll pair them with a simple brushed nickel rod, similar to the one we have now.

project 62 metal single frame || if you watched my instagram stories over the weekend, you may have seen this frame with a photo of S and me in front of our new house. as a surprise for S, i sent the instagram snap to artifact uprising to get a professionally printed version in an 8×10. i plan on incorporating a lot of gold details throughout the house and these simple frames totally fit the bill. they come in a few different sizes and i plan on stocking up so we can display an array of personal photos around the home.

opalhouse plastic tumbler || so this was more of an impulse buy, but i have a feeling we’ll get a lot of use of these cute tumblers, especially as we enter the heat of summer and we live outside in the backyard. i snagged four of the plastic glasses in clear and plan on using them from iced tea and iced coffee or large glasses of water. we have great everyday glass wear, but these are a little larger than our normal glasses, making them perfect for a giant serving of iced beverages. they also come in blue, purple, green, and orange.

threshold paper towel holder || anyone else keep paper towels all over the house? i try my best to use dish towels to be less wasteful, but there is something so satisfying about having a few sheets of paper towels nearby to wipe up errant messes. after the one we received for our wedding got wrecked, i’ve been on the hunt for a viable replacement. this gold-plated one is perfect for our kitchen!

and non-house related, but important to note… per the recommendation of my dear friend, i ordered these wide-leg overalls from target’s universal thread collection. they’re total madewell dupes and have strong reviews with the only complaint being that they run very small. i made sure to size up and if they’re winners, you’ll definitely be seeing them in a future post. did i mentioned they’re only $30?

Each and every one of those picks are lovely. They are subtle yet will pull together nicely. I’ll bet you had a great time with your mom!

We had the BEST time! And we’ll probably go back this weekend to get a few more things (and return two of the rugs I bought that didn’t work).

      Happy Memorial Day weekend!
      xoxo
