this friday, i’m in love with…
planning our two-year anniversary trip || with the rate at which this year has flown by, i know january 21st will be here in no time which is why i’ve already begun planning a mini getaway for our 2nd wedding anniversary early next year. since we weren’t able to go to ojai for last year’s celebrations, i’m making it a priority to re-do our original trip! this time, i think we’ll treat ourselves with a decadent getaway to the ojai valley inn. if you aren’t familiar with the quaint town, it’s nestled up in the mountains right above santa barbara. there isn’t too much to do, which makes it the ideal spot for a restful and relaxing vacation.
getting solar installed at casa de rivera || the riveras are going green, guys! after assessing the benefits of going solar (coupled with the shock of our new gas and electric bill!), we have decided to move forward with getting solar panels installed on our home. we’ve been working with solar symphony and they’ve made the process so seamless. installation happens next week and i can’t wait to see how the new system affects our bottom line.
beautycounter color intense lipstick in first date || as i was reordering some of my favorite beautycounter products (can’t live without this), i decided to treat myself to a new lip color as well. i have heard great things about the color instense lipstick line from my consultant, so i went with her recommendation for a good subtle pink and ordered “first date.” the tube arrived this week and i wasted no time in testing it out. not only is it the perfect pop of color on my lips (i swear it brightens my entire complexion), the application is smooth and the formula’s peppermint oil provides a refreshing aftertaste that leaves a subtle tingle.
p.s. the extended dirty john trailer came out on bravo this week and we officially have a premiere date -november 25th! happy thanksgiving to me! i truly cannot wait.
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:
*sadly the everlane jeans arrived yesterday and i just didn’t love them as much as i hoped i would. sending them back and hoping to find a better suited pair at madewell.
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:
date night here
a relaxing sunday (finally)
shopping date with my momma
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
it’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through october already! considering the fact that i’ve had our giant bags of halloween candy since mid-september, i’d say i’m ready for the holidays to start rolling in -if only for the fact that i cannot wait to decorate our house for christmas this year. ANYWAY, i feel like i’m struggling a little to find blog content lately, so i’m hoping that as we move into an exciting time of year, i will feel more inspired again. if there’s anything specific you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to reach out! i seem to get a good response when i do the occasional style session at home with pieces i already own, so perhaps i’ll start leaning into that a bit more.
at any rate, i hope you have a great weekend and i’ll see you next week.
